Commands

Install Docker
curl -fsSL https://get.docker.com | sh
sudo usermod -aG docker $USER
Run Portainer
docker volume create portainer_data
docker run -d -p 9443:9443 --name portainer --restart=always \
  -v /var/run/docker.sock:/var/run/docker.sock -v portainer_data:/data portainer/portainer-ce:latest

Pro tips

  • Use an SSD when running many containers.
  • Keep a docker-compose.yml for every service so you can rebuild fast.
